Matthew L. Winton
Matthew L. Winton is a litigation and transactional lawyer licensed in Oklahoma and Texas. Since 2000, he has represented real estate developers, builders, condominium and homeowner associations, and real property owners on all matters relating to residential and commercial condominiums, homeowners associations, and related issues. His is a state-wide practice, assisting clients in urban, rural, and resort communities. He serves as general counsel to multitudes of commercial and residential condo and homeowners associations.
Matthew Winton has authored Oklahoma’s book on HOA/Condo law, now in its 3rd Edition. Matt Thomas
Matt Thomas grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, yet has resided in Oklahoma since 1996. Mr. Thomas is now proud to call Oklahoma his home.
Matt earned his Juris Doctor at the Oklahoma City University School of Law where he graduated with the highest honors. During the pursuit of his legal education, Mr. Thomas was selected as a member of Dean’s List and Faculty Honor Roll and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. In addition, Mr. Thomas earned four (4) CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, which are given only to the highest scoring student in each law school class.
At Winton Law, Mr. Thomas leads the firm’s community association collections and foreclosures practice and assists in the firm’s litigation practice. Mr. Thomas brings to the firm years of litigation experience in addition to years of business acumen, each employed to the benefit of clients for strategic, cost-effective legal service.
Mr. Thomas recognizes the value of community and enjoys the benefits that flow from residing in a well-organized and well-governed community. However, Matt also recognizes that even within well-organized and governed community, issues may arise. Whether present issues involve dues or general obligation compliance, architectural standard compliance, or violations of use restrictions, Matt stands ready to assist you and/or your community with your legal needs.
However, should your legal needs expand beyond the confines of community association litigation, Mr. Thomas has years of litigation experience in various civil litigation contexts. While the list is not exhaustive, areas of practice have included general civil litigation and appellate practice, intentional torts, general negligence, breach of contract, construction defects, stormwater diversion, municipal zoning, real property partitions, professional negligence, personal injury, and declaratory judgments.
